The Archway Islands are an uninhabited small chain of islands in the north of the South Island of New Zealand . It extends about a kilometer from Cape Farewell in a westerly direction into the Cook Strait . The group consists of four rock islands in front of Wharariki Beach , the largest of which is only about 200 × 300 m and several smaller rocks.
