Ardhamagadhi

In Ardhamagadhi (also Ardha-Magadhi ; Sanskrit : Ardhamagadhi "Halbmagadhi") is a medium-Indian language ( Prakrit ). It is the language of the Jain canon and thus the linguistic basis for research into the religion and philosophy of Jainism , which is why it is sometimes also called Jain Prakrit . It is believed that the Buddha Siddhartha Gautama taught in this language.
