Arganona weddase

Arganona weddase ( harp of praise ) also Arganona dengel ( harp of the virgin ) is an Ethiopian office of Mary , which the Armenian Abba Giyorgis wrote around 1440 on behalf of the emperor Zara Yaqob . The text is divided into seven lessons for seven days of the week. The sources are biblical scriptures and some apocrypha . It is characterized by careful style, good language and poetic ideas and is considered to be one of the most significant independent works of Ethiopian literature.
