Garip Adalari

Garip Adaları ( modern Greek Αργινούσσες Arginousses ) is the name of a small group of islands in the Aegean Sea belonging to Turkey . It is located off the coast of Asia Minor east of the Greek island of Lesbos . The group consists of the islands of Garip and Kalem and a much smaller third island west of Garip.

In ancient times, the islands were called Arginuses ( ancient Greek Ἀργινούσσαι Arginoussai ); in the Battle of the Arginus ( 406 BC ) of the Peloponnesian War , the Athenians defeated the Spartan fleet.
