Arimasa Ōsawa

Arimasa Ōsawa ( Japanese 大 沢 在 昌 , Ōsawa Arimasa ; born March 8, 1956 in Nagoya , Japan ) is a Japanese author of hardboiled detective novels and thrillers . He dropped out of college at Keio University .

As a schoolboy, Ōsawa published his first texts, but later had little success with his detective novels, although he won the first prize for detective novels in 1979. With the first volume of the Hai von Shinjuku series (1990ff.) He finally achieved his breakthrough. Since then, Ōsawa has been one of the most successful crime writers in Japan.

In addition to The Shinjuku Shark , Ōsawa is also the author of two other crime series, about the private detective Ko Sakuma (1980–2000) and Arubaito . (1986-2004).

So far, the first and second parts of the Hai von Shinjuku series have been published in German by cass Verlag , which specializes in Japanese literature, translated by Katja Busson.
