Aristomenes (sculptor)
Aristomenes ( ancient Greek Ἀριστομένης ), son of Agias, was a Greek sculptor who worked in the middle of the 2nd century BC. Was active.
Aristomenes was part of a family of artists from Messene , besides his, both his son Agias and his grandson Pyrilampus are inscribed as sculptors . His signature is found on two fragments of statue bases found in Olympia . On the one base the inscription was partially repaid, on the other, we read that it was a statue on behalf Tegeas concerned that their honor Proxenos Dama Ristos was built.
