The Arizona State Route 179 (short- AZ 179 ) is a running north-south highway in the US state of Arizona .

The highway begins at Exit 298 on Interstate 17 north of Rimrock and ends in Sedona on Arizona State Route 89A . The State Route used to start south of Camp Verde . This section was closed until the construction of the I-17. Between Sedona and I-17, the road will be expanded to four lanes by 2009.
