The Arizona State Route 389 is a state highway in the northern US state of Arizona . It opens up the Arizona Strip , the most northwestern part of the state separated from the rest of Arizona by the Grand Canyon .
The highway begins near Colorado City on Utah State Route 59 on the Utah border , passes the Kaibab Paiute Indian Reservation with the Pipe Spring National Monument and the town of Kaibab and ends after crossing the small Kanab Creek on US Highway 89A near Fredonia .
