Arlindo Vicente

Arlindo Augusto Pires Vicente (born March 5, 1906 in Troviscal , † November 24, 1977 in Lisbon ) was a Portuguese lawyer and painter.

Career

Vicente graduated from law school in 1932. In 1958 he announced his candidacy for the office of President of the Republic. It represents a striking point in the struggle against Salazar's dictatorship . A little later he withdrew his plans in favor of Humberto Delgado . In retirement he devoted himself to the performing arts.

The city of Lisbon named a street after him in 1992.
