Armin Weinberger

Armin Weinberger (* 1973 ) is a German educational scientist . Since 2011 he has been a full professor at Saarland University and holder of the newly established chair for educational technology and knowledge management.

Career

Weinberger was Associate Professor in the Instructional Technology Department at the Faculty of Behavioral Sciences at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. In addition, university lecturer and PhD research assistant at the universities of Munich, Tübingen and the Leibniz Institute for Knowledge Media .

Weinberger is a reviewer for national science funding agencies such as DFG , ISF, FWO and SNSF as well as for national and international scientific journals. He is also the founder and coordinator of the EARLI SIG Argumentation Dialoge and Reasoning 2016.

Scientific activities

His research interests lie in the areas of analysis, promotion, generation, construction and sharing in communities of different sizes (small study groups, work teams). In addition, he researches scripts and knowledge convergences as well as their application and learning effects in different technology-supported learning scenarios.
