art value - Positions on the Value of Art is an interdisciplinary collector's magazine on questions of the appreciation of art. Experts from different fields of knowledge discuss aesthetic, political, ideological, sociological and economic criteria that can be used to evaluate art. It appears twice a year with a print run of 10,000 copies. The target group and main readership are private art collectors in German-speaking countries.

art value was founded in 2007 as a joint initiative of Axa Art Kunstversicherung AG and Welther Verlag. The publishing concept consists of a combination of customer magazine on the one hand and independent publishing on the other. Art value has been published in cooperation with the Allianz art insurance company ArtPrivat since 2012.

Each issue has a thematic focus that bundles the articles and establishes connections between the different contexts. In each issue a curator introduces one or more artists.
