Artazostre
Artazostre or Artozostre ( old Persian Arta-zausri ) was a daughter of Dareios I.
Herodotus (6.43) reports that Artazostre was married to Mardonios , the son of Gobryas , after he became general of the Persian army in Thrace and Macedonia (493/492 BC).
Artazostre was not mentioned in the Persian cuneiform texts . However, official documents with her name were found in Persepolis . It is also mentioned in a cuneiform tablet from 498 BC. As the wife of Mardonios, daughter of a king . She is said to have undertaken a trip with Gobryas and a woman named Aradušnamuya / Ardušnamuya , for which the Persian king approved routes. Mardonios may have had a son named Artontes with Artazostre .
