Artemon of Miletus
Artemon was a Greek author from Miletus who lived no later than the 1st century AD .
He wrote 22 books on phantasmata and mantic dreams in general as well as on medical advice from Serapis . Aelian possibly based himself on his work (nat. Anim. 11, 31 ff.); Artemidor von Daldis referred to him in his dream book (chap. 2). Pliny the Elder referred to him as a charlatan ( Naturalis historia 28, 7), whereas in Tertullian ( De anima 46) he was placed in a row with numerous other informants, who were given authority in the field of dream interpretation.
