Musculophrenic artery

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The musculophrenic artery is an artery in the chest cavity . It is one of the two terminal branches of the internal thoracic artery and extends below the costal arch downwards to the last rib. It pierces the diaphragm at the level of the 7th to 8th costal cartilage and supplies this and the lower section of the pericardium . Also, go from the artery musculophrenic from the 7th intercostal branches from segmental, as intercostal arteries anterior to the sternum provide facing portions of the intercostal spaces.
