Arthur Edward Rory Guinness, 4th Earl of Iveagh (born August 10, 1969 ) is a British peer and politician .

life and career

Arthur Guinness is a member of the famous Irish Guinness family. His father was Arthur Guinness, 3rd Earl of Iveagh .

On June 18, 1992, on the death of his father, he inherited the title of Earl of Iveagh and the associated seat in the House of Lords , which he lost in 1999 with the House of Lords Act 1999 . In the second half of the 1990s, Guinness was considered the richest person in the world under the age of 30 with an estimated fortune of £ 2 billion . It currently ranks 52nd on the Sunday Times Rich List.

Guinness lives and farms on the Elvenden country estate in Suffolk , which is 91 km² and has been owned by the Earls of Iveagh for more than 110 years. The former main building Elvenden Hall is no longer inhabited. The farm is considered the largest country estate in the UK. In 1999 Guinness sold the family's former ancestral home in Ireland, Farmleigh , to the Irish state, which now uses it for representative purposes.

He has been married to Claire Hazell since 2001. The couple has a son.
