Arthur Somare
Arthur Somare is a politician in Papua New Guinea .
Somare has been a member of the Angoram Open Electorate ( East Sepik Province ) in the national parliament since 1997 . The firstborn son of Sir Michael Somare , who has been Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea on several occasions , held several ministerial posts during his time in Parliament, including those of Minister of Communications and Minister of Planning.
In early 2006 he resigned from his ministerial posts after allegations. Like his father, he is a member of the National Alliance Party .
