Artist (magazine)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Artist ( spelling artist , originally artᴉst ) is a magazine for contemporary art ; the first edition "No. 1 ”was published in the third quarter of 1989. Since then, four issues have appeared annually with current exhibition reports, interviews , portraits, essays and polemics .

A special feature of Artist is that in each issue six pages are typographically designed by a different artist, with the focus on content and graphics. In addition, subscribers receive a so-called artist supplement or edition, which is designed as a collector's item.

The long-time editor-in-chief is Joachim Kreibohm, the publisher of raumzeitmedia Design & Marketing GmbH Bremen. Artist is sold through specialist bookshops and train station bookshops .
