Arubaru (also: Arbar Island , Arubaru-tō , Tufa ) is a motu of the Rongelap Atoll of the Pacific republic of the Marshall Islands .

geography

Arubaru is located in the southern reef rim and, together with the eponymous Rongelap, is one of the southernmost islands of the atoll. It is located between the Bikien Pass , opposite the island of Bikien , and the South Pass , opposite the Jaboan Point from Rongelap . The island forms a narrow arch, the end of which faces the lagoon. The island is uninhabited and has been contaminated with nuclear power since the Bravo bomb was tested for nuclear weapons .
