Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences

Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), named after the Indian astronomer Aryabhatta , has been the name of the research institute founded in 1954 with affiliated observatories , the Uttar Pradesh State Observatory (UPSO) in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh , since 2004 . The largest telescope since 1972 has been the "Sampurnanand" with a diameter of 104 cm from Carl Zeiss Jena . A Baker-Nunn camera is being modernized for large-scale sky observation .
