The Asartepe Dam ( Turkish Asartepe Barajı ) is located 14 km north of the city of Ayaş and 45 km northwest of the capital Ankara in the Turkish province of the same name .
The Asartepe Dam was built in 1975–1980 on the İlhan Çayı , a left tributary of the Kirmir Çayı . The dam is used to irrigate an area of 1500 ha. The barrier structure is a 36.5 m (according to other information 50 m) high embankment dam . The dam volume is 408,000 m³. The reservoir covers an area of 1.7 km² with normal damming. The storage volume is 20 million m³.
