The Ashfield Sports Club ( Ashfield SC for short ) is an Australian sports club from Ashfield , a suburb of the Western Australian capital Perth . The club is particularly known for its football division, which spent three seasons in the top division of Western Australia .
history
The club was founded in 1972 under the name Ashfield Dynamo . In 1996 they merged with Bunbury United and in 1999 reached the top Australian league for the first time as Ashfield / Bunbury. After relegation in 2000, the merger was dissolved and as Ashfield Soccer and Sports Club managed to return to the Western Australian Premier League for another season in 2002 . In 2011 the name was changed to the Ashfield Sports Club to emphasize the openness to other sports.
In 2013 they moved into the final of the West Australian Cup as a lower class club , but lost to Bayswater City 0-1.
