Asia Times Online (Chinese 亞洲 時報 在線) is an online publication that provides news and commentary in English and Chinese . The reports examine geopolitical, political, economic and business issues from an Asian perspective.

Asia Times Online was founded in early 1999 and is registered in Hong Kong . The service is funded through advertising and the resale of original content to other publications and news services.

Historically, Asia Times Online is the successor to Asia Times , a newspaper formerly published in Hong Kong and Bangkok , which was founded in 1995 but had to be discontinued as a result of the Asian crisis in 1997.
