The Assam University ( Assamese অসম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ) was founded in 1989 with an adopted law, which was implemented 1994th The campus is located in Dargakona in the Indian state of Assam , approx. 20 km from Silchar . The buildings previously belonged to the regional Silchar engineering school. Since 2007 there has also been a smaller campus in Diphu .
