The word comes from the Latin language and means to agree, to give applause, to declare someone or something fit for a certain purpose (military service).

As Assentierung were referred to the classification of military service compatible conscripts, cadets (after passing cadets test) and so-called aspirants in marital status to the former Austro-Hungarian army .

The term was also used for the purchase of horses by the Remonte Commission .
