Assin (people)

Assin (also: Asen ) is a people in Ghana .

The Assin belong to the Akan ethnic group, as do the related ethnic groups Ashanti , Fanti , Ahafo , Akwamu , Dankyira , Akim , Akwapim and Kwawu .

The Akan are the largest ethnic group in Ghana.

The Assin settled in their current settlement area in central Ghana in the 11th century. They had probably immigrated from the Sahel zone .
