Assistant (data processing)

The term wizard describes a surface that guides a user through several dialogs for ergonomic data entry (e.g. software installation). It will be a help , for example in the operation of the program or when filling out forms given. An assistant is often referred to as a wizard . Wizard is the English term for magician or sorcerer who, as if by magic, leads the often overwhelmed user through complex configuration labyrinths.

A well-known example of an assistant is Karl Klammer from Microsoft Office .
