The Associação de Intervenção Democrática ( ID , dt. About: Association of Democratic Intervention, mostly just Intervenção Democrática ) is a Portuguese left party.

The ID was founded in 1987 as a spin-off from the Movimento Democrático Português . In the parliamentary elections in Portugal in 1987 , two ID politicians won seats on the list of the CDU electoral alliance . By July 1988 the two ID politicians formed their own parliamentary group , after which they joined the CDU parliamentary group.

Since then, the ID has maintained its membership in the CDU electoral alliance, which has so far been renewed in regular meetings with the leading Portuguese Communist Party .
