The Luxembourg Men's Association ( lux.Lëtzebuerger Männervereennung , fr.Association des Hommes du Luxembourg ), AHL asbl for short , is a non-profit making association that was established on December 18, 2005 in Luxembourg as the Association luxembourgeoise d'aide aux hommes en instance de divorce et divorcés ( lux. Lëtzebuerger men's association vun de Gescheedenen an a Scheedung liewenden men , fr. Association luxembourgeoise d'aide aux hommes en instance de divorce et divorcés ), Alahidd for short , was founded. The association changed its name in 2006, so it was renamed the Association des Hommes du Luxembourg .

Before the parliamentary elections in Luxembourg, the AHL thought of changing its association into a party. A cooperation with another party seemed to be the best decision for the AHL members after all. The men's association AHL has been in a cooperation agreement with the Alternative Democratic Reform Party since March 13, 2008 . This contract enabled the members of the AHL to run for the parliamentary elections on June 7, 2009 on the ADR lists . Its chairman, Fernand Kartheiser , moved into the Chambre des Députés .

history

The men's association intends to represent the interests of men in general, including the issues discussed by the public authorities with regard to equal opportunities between men and women. The AHL would like to act as an important interlocutor for the Luxembourg authorities. With this topic it is the only association in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg .

The AHL takes care of the divorce problem and pursues any reform proposals to the divorce law. Particular concerns here are custody, the rights of fathers when exercising their visit and accommodation rights, maintenance payments, and the financial and tax situation of the separated and divorced men.

In addition to this main topic, the AHL also takes care of numerous other topics, including a. boys' problems at school, suicides in Luxembourg, sexual harassment, domestic violence, safety at work, insurance issues and, more generally, any other area where boys and men are victims of prejudice or disadvantage.

target

The aims of the association are as follows: the defense of the interests of men, the development and support of equality between men and women, the fight against discrimination that men are exposed to, the help for divorced or divorced men, information about the problems of the Divorce and its consequences, the defense of the interests of children and men in the event of divorce, development aid and the well-being of men in developing countries, as well as the organization and participation in social and cultural events.
