Astrophotometry

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Astrofotometrie describes the teaching, the brightness (and thus the size) of fixed stars to determine.

The brightness of fixed stars to determine their size was already described in 1925 by the Swedish - Danish astronomer Svante Elis Strömgren in his book on the main problems of modern astronomy .

Types of astrophotometry

There are three different types of astrophotometry. Depending on the application or the intended research result , either visual astrophotometry , photographic astrophotometry or photoelectric astrophotometry is used.

purpose

What the various applications have in common is the purpose of research, determining the brightness of the stars. Photoelectric astrophotometry is common today, as additional knowledge about the physical condition of the stars can be recognized by switching on various color filters.
