Şamaxı Astrophysical Observatory

The Şamaxı Astrophysical Observatory (Azerbaijan: Şamaxı Astrofizika Rəsədxanası , ŞAR, English: Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory , ShAO) is an observatory of the Republic of Azerbaijan , in the Şamaxı region in the South Caucasus , at an altitude of 1530 meters. It is also known as the Tusi Observatory, according to Nasir ad-Din at-Tusi . It is under the administration of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan .

Instruments

The observatory has a 2 meter diameter mirror telescope from Carl Zeiss Jena and a number of smaller instruments.
