Atarneus

Atarneus ( ancient Greek Άταρνεύς ) was an ancient city in Asia Minor landscape Aeolis . It lies opposite the island of Lesbos northeast of today's Dikili .

The place had its greatest importance in the 4th century BC, when it served as the residence of Hermeias , who ruled the area between Atarneus and Assos from here . Aristotle probably lived with him from 347 to 345 BC. As a guest friend.
