history

The professional football team was founded in 2002 and initially played in the fourth-class Tercera División . After the championship of this league could be won in the Clausura in 2005, the team managed to rise to the third-class Segunda División , in which they were represented in the following three seasons (2005/06 to 2007/08).

Their most successful seasons were the Apertura 2006 and the Apertura 2007, in each of which they qualified for the championship finals held in the play-off process . At the end of 2006 Cuauhtémoc failed in the round of 16 against the B team of Alacranes de Durango and a year later in the quarter-finals against CF Soccer Manzanillo .

When the Segunda División was given a new structure in the summer of 2008, Atlético Cuauhtémoc lost its place in the league and was converted to CF Guayaberos de Calvillo , who was represented in Group X of the Tercera División for some seasons.
