Club de Fútbol Soccer Manzanillo , often shortened to CFS Manzanillo or Soccer Manzanillo , is a former soccer club based in the city of Manzanillo in the Mexican state of Colima .
history
The club has been part of the third-class Segunda División since it was founded at the beginning of the 21st century and also had a reserve team in the fourth-class Tercera División . The greatest successes of the first team were the semi-finals in the Apertura 2007 and the Clausura 2009.
The greatest successes of the B-team were the two championship titles of the Tercera División in the Clausura 2006 and the Clausura 2008. Because the B-team was not allowed to perceive the promotion, they sold the third division license in both cases, which gave the club additional income .
Before the 2009/10 season, Club América took over the club and made it into a new farm team called América Manzanillo .
