Nuclear explosions for the national economy

The nuclear explosions program for the national economy was a Soviet project to make nuclear weapons usable for civil purposes.

From 1965 to 1988 there were over 100 explosions of civilian atomic explosives , mainly in mining .

Unintentional radioactive contamination occurred in the Globus-1 explosions on September 19, 1971 (at Kineschma in European Russia with an explosive force of 2.3 kilotons of TNT equivalent ) and Kraton-3 on August 24, 1978 (in Far Eastern Yakutia with 22 Kilotons of explosive power).
