Attila Egerházi

Attila Egerházi (born October 13, 1964 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian ballet dancer and choreographer.

Egeházi studied ballet and modern dance in Budapest from 1980 to 1986. He continued his education in Vienna, Stuttgart and Paris and completed his training as a ballet teacher at the Hungarian Dance Academy ( Magyar Táncmüvészeti Egyetem ) in 1997 . His teachers were Endre Jeszenszky , Armbgard van Bardelleben , Matt Mattox , Milton Meyers , Joe Alegado and Sonia Mota .

As a dancer he was active at the Vienna Dance Laboratory (1986–89) and the Hungarian National Ballet (1989–2000). Since 1995 he has been a visiting professor at the Dance Center Prague as well as a choreographer and artistic advisor to the Ballet Prague Junior . From 1998 to 2000 he taught modern dance at the Hungarian Dance Academy.

In 1998 he founded the choreographic studio of the Hungarian National Ballet, which he directed until 2001. He then directed the ballet in Pécs (until 2003) and in Debrecen (until 2006). In 2006 he founded the Hungarian Ballet Theater, of which he was director until 2009. From 2009 to 2016 he was the ballet director of the South Bohemian Theater's Ballet Company . In 2015 he received the Czech Dance Association's Award for the choreography of the ballet About Kafka .
