Alliance for Audited Media

The Alliance for Audited Media (AAM; before November 15, 2012 Audit Bureau of Circulations , ABC) is a North American non-profit organization that determines the circulation , reach and readership of newspapers and magazines. It was founded as the first of its kind in the world in 1914 in Chicago and now has offices in New York City and Toronto in addition to its headquarters in Schaumburg .

Publishers as well as advertising customers and agencies are affiliated with the AAM. In addition to North American members, there are also a few outside areas such as Puerto Rico and Bermuda , as well as partners from Great Britain and the Netherlands . The ABC had a total of 4,048 members, including 944 daily newspapers, 339 weekly newspapers, 821 consumer and 223 business magazines, 469 advertising customers and 691 advertising agencies (as of August 15, 2006).

The circulation reports include various recording criteria such as retail sales, paid circulation, breakdown by area and others. Basic data such as the circulation of a publication can be accessed online free of charge; further reports require registration or membership.
