Audulf (Bavaria)
Audulf (* around 760 ; † 818 ) was an East Franconian nobleman who was initially Count of the Taubergau and from 799 as the successor to Gerold's second Franconian governor (prefect) of Baiern . In his prefect function he represented the Carolingian kings, the Bavarians after the deposition of Tassilos III. 788 had annexed their empire as a province: he held provincial assemblies and court days and led the Bavarian army.
