Unlocking technique
Unlocking technology refers to the process of manipulating locks in such a way that they can be opened without the associated key. There are destructive and non-destructive methods :
- Destructive processes for locking cylinders : breaking off , core pulling (see Ziehfix ) and drilling out
- non-destructive processes:
- Lockpicking with their techniques: setting, raking, raking.
- Impression technique (step-by-step reproduction of a key based on the lock)
- Sometimes it is also possible to bypass the actual lock ( bypass ).
The MIT Guide to Lockpicking offers an overview of the non-destructive methods .
