The residential building August-Pieper-Straße 5 is in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) in the Gladbach district . It was built around 1900. The house was entered under No. A 001 on December 4, 1984 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

architecture

It is a three-storey plastered building with three axes and a windowed knee floor . Traditional structure of the Rhenish three-window house with emphasis on the horizontal with base, sill, floor and eaves cornice . The ground floor is structured by imitation of cuboids, the upper floors are smoothly plastered. The windows, which are arranged at regular center distances and designed with profiled walls , are uniformly rectangular in shape and have different frames on each floor.

A flat arched arch covered with imitation keystones crowns the windows and the house entrance on the ground floor on the left. Complex and plastic worked out the Bekrönungsschmuck of the window openings of the first floor, which as modified is Karniesbogen on vegetable-trained ornamentation function as Beletage tries to emphasize. The windows on the second floor are closed off with a simple beam roof. The rectangular windows on the mezzanine floor are carelessly cut into the wall surface . The protruding wooden box cornice is profiled and decorated with two stucco ornaments in the form of a shell motif. A gable roof , barely noticeable from the street view , completes the building.
