Stele with fountain basin

The Augustinerplatzbrunnen is a fountain on the Augustinerplatz between Kockerellstrasse - Judengasse and Annuntiatenbach in Aachen , where the Augustinian monastery in Aachen was located until 1802 .

It consists of four rectangular concrete basins, the three lower ones being arranged at right angles to the first basin, three concrete channels that direct the water from basin to basin and a stele surrounded by four fixed steel stools diagonally below the last basin, which allows the perception of the fountain shapes. The stele was 1971 by 65 architecture students led by Elmar Hillebrand , at that time Professor at the Department of Sculpture at the RWTH Aachen , in sandstone sculptural design.
