Aurelio Martínez Flóres

Aurelio Martínez Flóres , also known by the nickname "El Zurdo" (the "left foot"), is a former Mexican soccer player who mainly played in attacking midfield and was active as a soccer official after his active career.

career

"El Zurdo", who got his nickname because of his sharp left-footed shot, began his active career at Club Deportivo Guadalajara and was part of the squad of the championship team that won the seventh championship title in the club's history in the 1969/70 season. He also won the cup competition and the Supercup with Chivas in the same season .

Like his teammate, the former national goalkeeper Ignacio Calderón , Martínez moved a few years later to the university club Leones Negros , with whom he was runner-up in the Mexican league in the 1975/76 and 1976/77 seasons.

In 1977 he returned to CD Guadalajara, where he ended his active career in the 1981/82 season. Between 1991 and 1993 Martínez was President of Club Deportivo Guadalajara.
