Aureo José António Sávio

Aureo José António Sávio is an East Timorese civil servant. He is currently General Director of the Provedoria dos Direitos Humanos e Justiça (PDHJ, German  ombudsman for human rights and law ).

Career

In 2016 Sávio was appointed General Director of the PDHJ. The PDHJ is the country's national human rights institution and is enshrined in the constitution as an independent organization. The general director takes care of the organizational tasks and reports only to the ombudsmen .

Previously, from 2009, Sávio was the Director of Administration and Finance of the PDHJ, responsible for financial resources, human resources, logistics and procurement.
