AusRegistry (also ARI Registry Services ) is a Melbourne- based company that specializes in the administration of domains . Since 2002, it has managed all second and third level domains under .au for the Australian registry auDA . It is also responsible for the .om ending .

history

The technical administration of the country-specific top-level domain .au was put out to tender and in 2002 was initially awarded to AusRegistry for four years. 2005, the contract between the contracting authority auDA and the company was again extended, as in 2009. The registration of domains in Ausregistry corresponds to the EPP -Design and was one of the first systems to the top-level domains quick updates in zone files offered .

In addition to the operational operation of .au , AusRegistry has applied to manage new top-level domains , such as .phone . The company had previously expressed interest in .xxx , but ultimately did not apply to manage it. In 2012, AusRegistry won the tender to introduce the geographic addresses .melbourne , .sydney and .victoria for the respective cities. For this purpose a cooperation with the local branch of Ernst & Young was concluded.

In March 2011 it was announced that AusRegistry had been entrusted with the operation of the top-level domain .om of the Sultanate of Oman . This also included the introduction of an internationalized variant of the domain. Due to the ongoing internationalization of the company , it has been operating under the name ARI Registry Services for some time, but continues to appear externally under the AusRegistry brand .

AusRegistry and its managing director are among the harshest critics of ICANN .
