From Holberg's time - Suite in the old style (nor. Fra Holbergs tid - Suite i gammel stil ) op. 40 is a five-movement suite in G major by Edvard Grieg , which he originally composed as a piano work, but one of which was written by Grieg himself Version for string orchestra became better known.

Background and structure

Grieg composed the suite on the occasion of the 200th birthday of the Danish-Norwegian poet Ludvig Holberg in 1884.
