Instructor (Austria)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The trainer (apprentice trainer ) in the training company in Austria is qualified for the proper training of apprentices within the framework of dual training due to the trainer examination .

In many training companies, trainer is not a separate profession. A company is obliged to appoint an instructor:

  • in the case of legal entities (e.g. AG , GesmbH ) or
  • a partnership under commercial law (OG, KG) or
  • if the type and scope of the company do not permit training under the supervision of the authorized instructor (large number of apprentices or in branch operations or forest operations).

Larger companies also have full-time trainers and, in some cases, training managers.

Legal bases

The most important legal basis for the training of apprentices and the necessary qualifications of trainers is the Vocational Training Act (BAG) and the trainer examination regulations.

Technical competence and skills

In many cases, this task of the trainer is taken over by the company owner himself. The business owner can, however, commission suitable employees of the business to do this.

Instructors demonstrate the necessary technical competencies, professional pedagogical, methodological and legal knowledge through the instructor examination or an equivalent examination / course.

In addition to technical competence, trainers should:

  • Social competence
  • Leadership skills
  • Assertiveness
  • Conflict resolution
  • Flexibility and
  • Show patience.

Instructor examination / instructor course

The trainer qualification is often an integrated module in the master craftsman's examinations or proficiency tests.

If their own trainer examination is required, this can be taken as an oral examination (technical discussion) by people over the age of 18. Alternatively, an instructor course of at least 40 hours per week with a subsequent examination (technical discussion) can be completed.

The trainer exam are z. B. the following tests are equivalent:

  • Judge's examination, notarial examination, bar examination, civil engineering examination, specialist examination for tax consultants, auditors and tax consultants, auditors and tax consultants, teaching examination at a vocational education academy for vocational schools;
  • the exam for the profession of pharmacist;
  • the entrepreneurship examination or the master craftsman examination or qualification examination for certain professions;
  • certain service examinations for civil servants of the federal government, the states or the municipalities;

The trainer course also corresponds to training at a specialist academy of at least two years, the foreman schools or at the building trade schools, master classes, provided that it can be proven that a lesson of at least 40 teaching units was given in the areas of vocational education, leadership and communication.

Ratio

In addition to their other activities in the company, trainers must be able to personally supervise the training of the apprentices. In order to ensure high quality training, a certain ratio of trainers and apprentices must be maintained. According to the Vocational Training Act, these ratios must always be taken into account before hiring an apprentice:

  • for each person with relevant specialist training: two apprentices and for each additional person with relevant specialist training, one additional trainee;
  • Max. five apprentices per trainer who is not exclusively entrusted with training tasks, or
  • for every 15 apprentices, at least one instructor exclusively supervised by training.

Approval of companies to train apprentices

Before the first training of apprentices, the apprenticeship office of the Chamber of Commerce issues a notice of assessment after obtaining a statement from the Chamber of Labor .

The training of apprentices by authorized instructors is only permitted if

  • the authorized instructor is authorized to carry out the activity in which the apprentice is to be trained;
  • the authorized instructor (or trainer) has the specialist knowledge required for the training;
  • the authorized instructor has successfully attended the instructor course (with exceptions)
  • there is no training ban;
  • the company is set up and managed in such a way that the apprentices can acquire the necessary skills and knowledge.
