Under Aushänger (s) is understood in the publishing production of bookbinding folded, but not yet (together) printed sheets bound for quality assurance before final tying a book block.
During production , the print quality and the correct sequence of pages and folding sheets are checked in order to then give the bookbinder the approval to manufacture the book ( binding approval ). In the event of a complaint based on the hangers, the entire book does not have to be reprinted, but only the faulty printed sheet. It is therefore a measure of damage limitation.
