from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Education for foreigners is a term that emerged in the 1970s as a result of the influx of guest workers for the schooling of the children of migrant workers . The target group were not only the foreign children but also their teachers.

It was not until the 1980s that the demand for " intercultural education " was formulated and a change in perspective in the area of intercultural education was initiated. In addition to the reflection on the results of the "foreigner education" efforts, this development was favored by the growing together " EU - Europe ".
