Display (advertising)

The word display describes two related terms:

  • the displayed goods , which are presented in a rack, a showcase or behind a shop window ;
  • the display area behind a shop window.

In the second sense, the word is used in Austria.

Displays serve to advertise goods for sale ; they are usually elaborately arranged. For the design of the display there is the profession of display designer or decorator (f / m).
