Rash rust

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The shake-out grate (synonym: separating grate or oscillating grating ) is a term for a device in the foundry technology .

With this grate, the sand ( molding material ) is separated from the casting and the molding box . The crate empties through vertical oscillating movements with impact or vibration. The sand falls through the openings in the grate and the cast pieces that have been sanded on top can be removed from the grate. The grids are mostly loaded with a crane or shovel loader . The knocked out sand is fed back into the production process as "regenerated material " through a downstream molding material regeneration system.

Applications

Knock-out gratings are used in the foundry industry for small production quantities in single grids as well as for large piece weights in multiple grids and reach grate surfaces of up to 40 m 2 . Depending on the version, the grids can carry a unit weight of up to 40 t.
