The Australian Defense Satellite Communications Station ( ADSCS ), also known as Kojarena Station , is an Australian national security facility. It is located at Kojarena , 30 km east of Geraldton , Western Australia . It is part of the ECHELON network . Communications that take place via satellites are monitored.

According to British investigative journalist and surveillance expert Duncan Campbell, "Japanese diplomatic and commercial news, all kinds of news to and from North Korea and information about Indian and Pakistani nuclear weapons developments are among the station's top targets."

In 2001 the European Parliament established that the Echelon network, to which the Geraldton station (ADSCS) also belongs, is used for eavesdropping on private and commercial communications.

The Sydney Morning Herald named Geraldton / Kojarena as one of four monitoring facilities in Australia alongside Pine Gap , Shoal Bay and HMAS Harman , which use XKeyscore software to collect data for the NSA .
